Occupational medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with the treatment, prevention, and management of work-related illnesses and injuries. It is concerned with maintaining the health and safety of workers and ensuring that their working conditions are not harmful to their health. Occupational physicians and other health care professionals work to identify, evaluate, and manage health risks that are associated with specific jobs or work environments. They also develop and implement programs to prevent work-related illnesses and injuries, such as ergonomic programs, health and safety training, and immunization programs. In addition to medical treatment, occupational medicine may also involve rehabilitation, health surveillance, and risk assessment.
“Hypertension, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, and Obesity are epidemic in the United States among occupations and industrial workers. Many refineries and facilities are requiring contractors to “physical qualify” their employees prior to entering a facility. Often times workers don’t pass the evaluation and are sent home for medication for the treatment of chronic systemic disorders, oftentimes workers don’t have health insurance, and are forced to go to expensive urgent care or hospital facilities or even worse, go to Mexico for questionable medical care. We provide ongoing conservative medical management for these disorders at an affordable cost to the employee. “
