ARM PAIN

Arm pain refers to any part of the arm, including the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, and fingers. Although it may be a common occurrence, injury is not the only cause for arm pain. While we do treat pain from injuries, we also provide care for conditions not caused by an injury. Carpal tunnel syndrome, for example, is not typically caused by an acute injury, but rather progresses over time in those who use their hands a lot for work (hairdressers, nail technicians, computer coders, etc.). We also commonly treat tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow in our office. Check out the links below for more information regarding the specific condition you are inquiring about.

Arm pain, especially left arm pain could be a sign of a serious problem. Arm pain could be caused by infections or injury from exercise or sports. The most common cause of arm pain results from cervical spine (neck) nerves exiting the spine and running down your arms. These may be pinched, irritated, or have pressure on them causing pain.

Arm pain can be a sign of serious problem such as:

  • Bone fractures or joint dislocations
  • Tendon strains (tendinitis) or sprains
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Arthritis
  • Nerve damage
  • Spine conditions such as cervical disk herniation
  • Diabetic neuropathy
  • Osteoporosis
  • Carpel tunnel syndrome
